Therapists/Staff
Kathleen
Barnett,
LISW-S is a Board Certified Diplomat, Certified
Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, and has an Advanced
Certificate in Family Therapy. Kathleen has over 15
years experience in working with clients on relationship
issues, depression, anxiety and fears, divorce, life
coaching, grief, parenting, spirituality, trauma and
PTSD. She works with individuals, couples, and families.
She collaborates with several psychiatrists for clients
that also need medication as part of their treatment.
Emily
Bart,
LISW-S has been a mental health therapist for over 20
years. She has the training, experience, and sensitivity
to help individuals and families effect change in their
lives. Adults, couples, and families realize their goals
through therapy tailored to their needs. Cognitive
Behavioral therapy, Family/Couples therapy, and
Psychodynamic approach may be utilized. While Emily’s
style is relaxed and supportive, she is active in
challenging the status quo, and assisting clients in
thinking in new ways to create change and realizing
their goals.
Amy
Cohen,
LISW-S has
over 15 years of experience as a therapist. Amy enjoys
working with clients on weight loss and maintenance,
from a cognitive therapy perspective. This enables Amy’s
clients to comply with their weight loss goals, medical
recommendations, while improving their health and
well-being. Amy has completed training at The Beck
Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research in
Philadelphia to enhance her ability to work with clients
in this area. Amy helps clients learn the skills
necessary to make it much more likely that they will
maintain the necessary lifestyle changes to keep the
weight off. In addition to this focus, she also enjoys
helping clients with many other mental health concerns.
Gary Key,
LISW-S has been a licensed therapist for over thirty
years. He specializes in working with adults, couples,
and adolescents who have been wounded by drugs or
alcohol, sexual issues, divorce depression, anxiety, and
other difficulties. He enjoys giving respectful guidance
to people and loves to see the hope treatment produces
in their lives. His Christian faith has afforded him the
humble opportunities to see God’s work in a therapeutic
setting.
Melinda
Sponseller,
LPCC has 13 years experience working in the mental
health field. Melinda has been trained in Parent Child
Interaction Therapy to assist parents and child(ren)
rebuild a broken bond. She has a wide array of
experiences including working with families in the home,
abuse and neglect issues. She has worked with children
of all ages in groups and individual counseling, and
individual and group adult counseling. Melinda creates a
safe, supportive environment for her client’s self
exploration.
Dana
Springer,
LISW-S is a
Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist. Dana attended
University of Kentucky for her graduate work and has
been working with individuals and families for many
years. Working in diverse settings and becoming
proficient in various modalities of therapy Dana was the
first independently licensed therapist at Mason High
School and has a safe dating program for teens designed
to help teens make good choices in dating. Dana has
extensive training and experience working with combat
veterans and their families and with the elderly
suffering grief and bereavement along with life changes.
Angie
Thorman-Grimsley
is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and Licensed
Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor. She has over
30 years of clinical experience in treating adults,
couples, families, adolescents, children, and groups. In
addition, she provides chemical dependency evaluations
and training. She has completed level III Healing Touch
training and often incorporates energy work in her
practice.
Russell Cruse,
LPCC-S has been serving individuals, couples, families,
children and adolescents in some capacity since 1988.
Russell is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the
State of Ohio. As a Christian Counselor Russell can use
Biblical principles in addressing issues that have
become a challenge in the lives of individuals, couples
and families. Area of competency include: personal
issues, male related issues, family struggles,
parenting, pre-marital, and marital issues, loss and
grief, foster care/adoption.
Pamela P. Gerdes,
LISW, earned a specialized mental health certificate at
the graduate level and is certified in Reality Therapy,
Change Management and Rational Living Therapy. Pam
counsels people dealing with grief, anxiety, depression,
managing anger, trauma, abuse issues, addiction,
relationship problems, mental disorders and other
serious issues. She connects with each client to gain an
in-depth understanding of their frustrations and hopes.
By working closely with each client and creating a safe
environment for change, Pam helps clients grasp the
problems they face and develop the wisdom and skills
needed to enhance well-being and quality of life.
Lisa Sackett
is a board certified Marriage and Family Therapist. Lisa
earned her BA in Education and started her career as an
Elementary School Teacher. She obtained her MS in
Marriage, Family and Child Counseling in 2008. Lisa
feels blessed to be starting her counseling career in
the field which God has called her. Her life verse is
Isaiah 50:4, “The Sovereign LORD has given me an
instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the
weary.” She has experience in counseling for
drug/alcohol addiction, family relationship issues,
individual, couples and child therapy.
Faye H. Ross,
LISW-S is a Board Certified Diplomat in Psychiatric
Social Work with a focus on Family Therapy. Faye has
over 30 years experience working with children,
adolescents, adults, marital issues and families. She
specializes in a wide array of problems including early
childhood development, parenting issues, adolescent and
young adult as well as women's issues. Her primary focus
is the family and on relationship building and
communication skills. Faye has had extensive experience
with severe mental illness and works with many pediatric
and adult psychiatrists in the community and is
resourceful when the need for medication arises. Faye
also has special certification in Trauma Focused DBT and
has had advanced training in DBT. She is available for
appointments in the evenings and on Saturdays.
